    Andersen Tax is looking for an experienced Instructional Designer to join its national Learning & Development team. This individual will collaborate with other members of the team, subject matter experts, instructors, and facilitators to develop and implement creative, engaging, and high quality technical and nontechnical training for the firm’s employees, across all levels, service lines, and U.S. locations. 


    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with Learning & Development, subject matter experts, and instructors to determine learning needs and analyze learning gaps, and to assist in the development of learning paths
    • Design core tax and professional skills training based on learning paths and level-specific competencies, across service lines
      • Learning experiences include instructor-led, virtual, and self-study courses
      • Content includes knowledge checks, examples, case studies, job aids, etc., to enhance participant engagement, learning, and retention
    • Develop and implement innovative and impactful curricula using advanced learning theory and technologies
    • Review and enhance existing content to ensure level appropriateness and consistency with learning objectives
    • Drive the strategy around the design of learning content and experiences that leverages technology to meet the needs of a diverse set of learning styles
    • Propose and implement plans for new and lateral hire content to assist in onboarding and integration into the firm
    • Build and implement pre and post-study content, where applicable
    • Advise on best practices for content creation and execution using innovative organizational development and/or adult learning techniques, principles, theory, and online learning technologies
    • Assist with instructor preparedness and effectiveness, and onsite learning facilitation, as needed
    • Adhere to requirements for qualifying content for continuing education credits
    • Suggest and assist with implementing instructional technology for effective and efficient training delivery
    • Assist in the administration of the Learning Management System with respect to directing learning and tracking competencies at various levels

    The Learning & Development Senior Instructional Designer will report to the Managing Director of Learning & Development and work closely with subject matter experts, including U.S. National Tax, firm wide training committees, and other members of the Learning & Development team.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or technology, organizational development, behavioral psychology, education, or a related field preferred
    • Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience assessing training needs and developing related content, with experience in a professional services firm, in particular tax or accounting, preferred
    • Ability to learn basic tax technical terminology and to garner industry knowledge
    • Proficiency with eLearning resources and authoring tools and implementation thereof, including SCORM and AICC
    • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, interpersonal, teaming, and communication skills
    • Ability to take initiative and act in a self-directed manner, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Innovative and solutions-oriented thinker with excellent judgement and professionalism
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
    • Ability to travel across locations and/or learning events
